Application is Open for the ISO/IEC 17025 LQMS Training of Trainers Workshop in Cape Town
The African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM) is pleased to invite applications for the Training of Trainers (ToT) on ISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory Quality Management Systems (LQMS) for non-medical laboratories.
This intensive training is designed to build a strong cadre of QMS trainers who can drive sustainable quality improvement and strengthen laboratory systems across Africa.

Participants will gain knowledge in:

✔️ ISO/IEC 17025 standards and implementation

✔️ Adult learning principles and training facilitation techniques
✔️ Strategies for building a culture of quality and continuous improvement
Training Structure
- 5 days of intensive didactic training
- 3 days of teach-back sessions and practical facilitation
- 12-month post-training engagement, including mentorship and implementation projects
Post-Training Requirements
Participants will be expected to:
- Facilitate LQMS training in their home country
- Support laboratories in method validation and QMS implementation
- Participate in mentorship and submit improvement project reports
- Complete all requirements to receive final certification
- Costs (Proof of Financial Support Required)
- Travel and travel insurance
- Accommodation in Cape Town
- Administrative training fee: USD 2,000 (payable to ASLM)
