

Abstract Submission
Purpose
The AMR Conference aims to address the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance by fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and promoting innovation across various disciplines. Abstract submission will serve as the foundation for showcasing cutting-edge research, advancements, and insights related to AMR, ensuring diverse representation in discussions.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
Participants are invited to submit their abstracts in alignment with the following thematic areas:
- Molecular mechanisms of resistance
- Innovative diagnostic tools and platforms
- Genomics, Bioinformatics and AMR Surveillance
- Development of new antimicrobials and drug candidates
- Alternatives to antimicrobials (e.g., bacteriophages, probiotics, immunotherapies)
- Strategies for antimicrobial stewardship and optimized use
- Sustainable financing models for AMR response
- Equitable access to effective antimicrobials in LMICs
- Economic and social impact of AMR
- Regulatory frameworks and stewardship policies for AMR
- Multisectoral partnerships and regional/global collaborations
- Community engagement and demand-side interventions
- Training and education initiatives for healthcare professionals
- Behavioural science approaches to prescribing and consumption
- Role of media, digital platforms and advocacy campaigns in AMR awareness
- Intersections between human, animal, and environmental health
- AMR in agriculture, aquaculture and food systems
- Environmental reservoirs and wastewater surveillance
- Integrated One Health surveillance models
- Bioterrorism and AMR intersection
- Impact of climate change on AMR ecology and transmission

- Language: All abstracts must be submitted in
- Word Limit: Maximum 350 words (excluding title, authors, and affiliations).
- Format: Structured abstracts are recommended, with the following sections:
- Presentation title- Please provide a concise and clear title of your presentation
- Presenter Details- Presenter Name, Email Address, Alternative email(if any) Contact Number(including country code)
- Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
- Background – Brief context and rationale.
- Methods – Study design, population, tools, and analysis.
- Results – Key findings (quantitative/qualitative).
- Conclusion – Implications, significance, and next steps.
- Thematic Alignment: Select one primary thematic area under which your abstract fits.
- Ethics: All research involving humans or animals must indicate ethical clearance.
- Copyright Statement for Abstract Submissions: By submitting an abstract to the “Accelerating Diagnostic Innovation and Collaboration to Combat AMR and Advance Health Security in Africa” conference, authors agree to the following:
- All authors retain full copyright to their work.
- Authors grant the conference organizers a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to:
- reproduce and distribute the abstract in print and electronic conference proceedings
- adapt and include the abstract in promotional and educational materials
- display the abstract on the conference website and associated platforms
- This license permits the organizers to archive, host, and share the abstract indefinitely, without further permission or payment, provided appropriate credit is given to the authors.
- Authors warrant that the abstract is original, not under review elsewhere, and that they have secured necessary permissions for any third-party material.
- If an abstract is co-authored, all listed authors must consent to this agreement at the time of submission.
- Biography of Presenting Author
(The biography should be submitted as a paragraph (not in bullet points), and must not exceed 100 words.)
- Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Scientific Committee,
- Review criteria:
- Originality and innovation
- Relevance to AMR and health security
- Scientific rigor and methodological soundness
- Clarity and quality of writing
- Accepted abstracts will be assigned to:
- Oral presentations – Selected authors either will deliver a 10 – 15 minutes presentation during themed sessions at the conference.
- Poster sessions – Authors can share their findings or visually through posters, enabling networking and discussion with attendees.
- Convention Abstract Book:
All accepted abstracts will be featured in a convention abstract book, providing a permanent record of contributions and facilitating access to research.
